Gary Batten (Owner/President)
Licensed in North and South Carolina

Mr. Batten graduated from Appalachian State University in 1968 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business. In 1969, Mr. Batten joined the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and received an early retirement in 1983. In January, 1984, Mr. Batten began Batten Investigations and Security Service, Inc., which became solely an investigative company in November, 2000. He is currently licensed by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to conduct investigations in North and South Carolina. Mr. Batten is an active member in the World Association of Detectives, the World Investigator’s Network, and is a past president and active member of the Society of Former North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations Agents.

Brian Casey (Vice President)
Licensed in North and South Carolina

Mr. Casey graduated from Duke University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology in May, 1996, and has completed a program in Marketing and Management. Mr. Casey began full time employment with Batten Investigations in June, 1996, as a Private Investigator. Mr. Casey is licensed by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to conduct investigations in North and South Carolina.

Jeanna Batten Casey
Licensed in North Carolina only

Mrs. Casey is the daughter of Gary Batten and began part-time employment with Batten Investigations in an administrative capacity in June, 1988. Mrs. Casey became a full time employee after graduating from Meredith College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in May, 1993, and received her Private Investigator’s license in June, 1995. Mrs. Casey is licensed by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board to conduct investigations in North Carolina only.

Donald Edwin Snell
Licensed in North Carolina

Mr. Snell began employment with Batten Investigations in May, 2004. He is licensed as a Private Investigator with the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board to conduct investigations in North Carolina only. He retired in April, 2001, from the state of New York as the Chief Environmental Conservation Captain where he was the commander of Police operations in an eleven county region. He has brought the expertise of Environmental Investigations to Batten Investigations, Inc., which is a new area of work for this company. His expertise would include PRP (potentially responsible people) investigations, brown fields (properties that are contaminated) investigations, asbestos investigations and investigations of environmental liability relating to real estate transactions or investor financing.

Gabe Stevens
Licensed in North Carolina only

Mr. Stevens graduated in 2011 from Keystone National High School while living at Fort Stewart, Georgia. After moving to North Carolina, he joined the North Carolina National Guard in 2013 and presently serves in an aviation unit in Morrisville, NC. He began employment with Batten Investigations in November of 2016 as a Private Investigator Associate.

William Michael Delauter
Licensed in North and South Carolina

Mr. Delauter graduated from Vincennes University in 1980 with a degree in Criminal Justice. He attended the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy while working as a Deputy Sheriff in Indiana in 1981. Mr. Delauter joined the U.S. Army in March of 1982 as a Military Police Officer. He completed his 20 year career in the Army in 2002 and began a career in Private Investigations. Mr. Delauter began employment with Batten Investigations, Inc. in May, 2015. Mr. Delauter is licensed by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to conduct investigations in North and South Carolina.

Jason Neifert
Licensed in North and South Carolina

Mr. Neifert graduated from Northern York High School in Pennsylvania in 2001, and enlisted in the United States Air Force in 2003. After receiving an honorable discharge in 2007, he began working for Putnam Electric. In 2009, he joined the Air Force Reserves and received an honorable discharge from the Reserves in 2013. In May of 2011, Mr. Neifert began employment with Batten Investigations to conduct investigations in North Carolina, and in October of 2011, he became licensed with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division to conduct investigations in South Carolina.

Joseph Ward
Licensed in North and South Carolina

Mr. Ward graduated in 1988 from Richmond Sr. High School in Rockingham, North Carolina. He joined the Army National Guard in 1990, and subsequently joined the Rockingham Police Department in 1993, where he spent the next 13 years as a patrol officer, a narcotics investigator, and a community police officer. Mr. Ward left the police department in 2007, and spent the next two years as an international police advisor in Iraq. When he returned to the United States, he became licensed in North and South Carolina as a Private Investigator. Mr. Ward has worked in the private investigative field since 2009. He began working with Batten Investigations in December of 2015

Cathy Williams
Licensed in North Carolina only

Ms. Williams graduated from Montgomery Community College in August of 1987 with a certificate of completion in Basic Law Enforcement Training. Ms. Williams subsequently joined the Moore County Sheriff’s Department (MCSD) where she was employed for 30 years. Ms. Williams spent 20-plus years assigned to the Criminal Investigations Unit of the MCSD where she retired as a Lieutenant in December of 2015. Ms. Williams is licensed by the North Carolina Private Protective Services Board and began her employment with Batten Investigations in December of 2016 as a part-time criminal investigator.
